Elizabeth has worked as a Research Assistant and Practice Facilitator for the UB Patient Safety Research Center since January 2006. She has a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and a Master’s of Arts in Physical Anthropology from the University at Buffalo. As a graduate student Elizabeth was the Graduate Director of an Animal Behavior Laboratory at Buffalo State College as well as a Teaching Assistant for Comparative Anatomy at the University at Buffalo. She has a background and interest in Human anatomy, growth and nutrition as well as the social determinants of health.

Within the Primary Care Research Institute (PCRI) at UB, Elizabeth’s responsibilities have included acting as a research assistant (an outcome assessment interviewer, assisting in the development of protocols for chart reviews, medical chart extractor, creating survey instruments, performing data analysis, and assisting in manuscript preparation) and as an interventionist (a practice facilitator, motivational enhancement therapy counselor and a standardized patient for training medical residents). She has been actively involved in other PCRI grant funded research studies on facilitating alcohol detoxification aftercare treatment, and helping to link patients with mental illness to primary care.
